Meet Mrs. Eryn Durlam 

Eryn Durlam is the music teacher at First Church Christian Academy in Fresno, California.  She is also on staff as an accompanist for the Bach Children’s Choir organization.  Eryn was born and raised in Watertown, Wisconsin, and is a graduate of Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.  While at Luther, she appeared as a pianist, singer, and flautist in numerous recitals, sang in and accompanied the Nordic Choir under the direction of Weston Noble, and served as president of and flute and piccolo soloist with the Luther College Concert Band.  After graduation, Mrs. Durlam taught K-5 general music and 6-8 choir for four years in the South Winneshiek School District in Ossian, Iowa.  She later taught general music in several schools around Iowa City before taking a full-time teaching position at Lakeview Elementary School in Solon, Iowa, which she held until the birth of her first child.  Eryn has directed and assisted with both children’s and adult church choirs in Decorah and Iowa City, Iowa, and Lansing, Michigan.  She has served as an accompanist at various high schools and colleges including the University of Iowa and Michigan State University.  She has worked as a worship coordinator, and organist/accompanist at a number of churches and, for the past fourteen years, has maintained an active piano and voice studio in her home. Durlam and her husband Zack (the choral director at Fresno Pacific University) are the parents of two boys — Noah, 8, and Micah, 6.
