Welcome!
My name is Dawn Phanco, and I feel blessed to have your child in my class this year.
To give you a little bit about my background, I worked as a teacher's aide, substitute teacher and student teacher for about ten years with FUSD. I received my degree and credential through CSUF. My last position with the district was teaching a 2-3 grade combination class for 5 years at a demonstration elementary school. Then, God blessed me with the opportunity to stay at home with my boys, Nathaniel and Benjamin, for their first few years.
Both of my boys now attend FCCA, preschool and second grade, so I know first-hand the value of the education the children receive at the Academy. My husband, David, works in Information Technology for a large law firm.
As the students get accustomed to a classroom setting and a structured learning environment, we will certainly face challenges. The first weeks will primarily be spent reviewing proper behavior and classroom rules. Then, we’ll work on short and long vowel sounds, counting, telling time and a lot more. We also have some fun trips and events planned this year.
I look forward to staying in close communication with you throughout the year to let you know how your child is doing. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to discuss them with me. Working together as partners in your child’s education, we can ensure the best results. At the end of the year, we’ll be able to look back on all your child has accomplished.
I will publish a weekly newsletter to keep you updated on important items.
God Bless,
Dawn Phanco
