Dear Parents,
We've had a short,but busy week!! Thank you for such an amazing time during our Parent-Teacher conferences. I've really enjoyed the ones we've had so far!! Don't forget that your child is now also doing an oral math fact test.
This will help your child to know those facts from memory which will enable your child to do
future math computations accurately and quickly .
Thank you for all your support and help with your children.
You will find the newsletter as well as a study guide with the Spelling words, Math facts, and
Bible Memory Verse (BMV) posted on the website. I sent a paper copy of the study guide in your child's
Special Delivery Folder this week. Please have your child copy his/her Spelling words and BMV 2x's each
for homework. The Homework needs to be returned to school on Monday in your child's Special Delivery Folder.
Your child only needs to study and memorize his/her math facts, but may copy these facts on paper for extra credit.
Tests for November 14th-18th.
Tuesday, November 15th-Speed Drills.
Wednesday, November 16th- Math Fact test, Spelling Pre-test, Math, Phonics Tests.
Thursday, November 17th- BMV, Spelling Tests .
Friday, November 18th- NO Tests!!- Grandparent's DAY!!!!
Don't forget to bring in your Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes to school by Wednesday, November 16th!!
Grandparent's Day is coming up this Friday, November 18th!!! If you have not filled out or returned the mailing
addresses for your child's Grandparents, please call and invite your child's Grandparents to come and join us!!!
We'll be doing some fun activities together in class, as well as honoring our Grandparents with a special Chapel and
lunch that day!! Grandparents will be honoring us with their presence from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 that day, and the
students can't wait to share this special time with them!!!
Our 2nd Grade class will be helping out the First Church of God Food Ministry this year as for our service project.
We would like to help feed hungry families with food baskets from the church by bringing in non-perishable boxed foods
and canned foods throughout this year. I would ask that you give as you have been blessed so that others may partake
in God's love and blessings through our class. You may choose to give whatever you can whenever you can so that we can
help keep the food pantry shelves filled. Our class will also be making cards to go with the food baskets to share the Christ's
love with all who receive a basket. Just have your child bring in their donation "blessings" to class and we'll deliver them to
the church. Our class has already given two big grocery bags filled with food to the food ministry!!! Let's keep it up!!!!!
Thank you again for giving to God, and He'll give back to you much more than you could ever imagine!!!
Show-n-tell has begun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Every Friday there will be 2 students assigned to do Show-n-tell.
Emma Lang and Evan Najera will be presenting Show-n-tell next week on Friday, November 18th!!
I can't wait to hear them share their special treasures and memories with our class!!
