Music with Mrs. Durlam

I am so excited to be a part of the FCCA family this year! 

Although many things will be similar to last year, I’d like to highlight some of the new additions to the music curriculum and calendar. 

 We will be adding a Middle School Choir to the schedule for all MS students, for both first and second semesters.  When the musical nears, we will be using that time to rehearse.

The fourth graders will be experiencing “Recorder Karate” (hi-YAH!)

 The elementary students will be presenting a spring program in April or May showcasing some of their activities and songs they’ve been working on throughout the year.  K-2 will perform first, followed by 3-5. 

   We will be using a “new-to-us” music book curriculum from Bob Jones University Press that includes songs, activities, and listening exercises for all elementary grades.  In addition, we will continue to learn about music reading, rhythm, composers and singing skills.

      Middle School Students will have the option of signing up for  these music electives: “Vocal Performance” and “Music Appreciation: From Bach to the Beatles”.

I am really looking forward to our time together, and pray that we would learn, love and live God's wonderful gift of music!
