Monday

10:30 - 5th gr.

Begin Lesson on songwriting.(Writing lyrics to a melody) Students will create a song using the title "Wind"

11:00 - 4th gr.

Students will learn the recorder accompaniment for The Computer song. Have students work on counting the various rests in the music.

11:30 -. 1st. gr

Review with the children about time signatures and how they work at the beginning of a song.

 
Tuesday

10:30 A.M. Kind.

Children will learn songs from pg.26 of the 1st gr. book. We will discuss treble clef and bass clef sings and they will find the hidden signs on the page.

 11:00 - 3rd gr

Today I will hear students play Amazing Grace on the flutophnes. This is a 4th quarter quiz to help me know where they are on learning the notes on the instrument.

 11:30 - 2nd gr.

Review about how notes, step, skip, or leap. Sing Over in The Meadow song on pg. 41. When ready Begin Lesson # 30, st. bk. pg.42. (Time signatures tell how many counts are in a measure.)

 
Wednesday

Pastor Nolte and Bryan Hitch will be providing our chapel time today. 8:30A..M.

 

5th grade

 

Finish the lesson on songwriting, (Lesson #25). Go over Songwriter discussion questions.

 11:00 4th - gr.

Have the students play the accompaniment for Senorita Parakeet. Review notes learned thus far. Begin Lesson # 19, st. bk. pg.26. (Musical symbols and recorder songs learned through lesson 18.

11:30 - 1st gr.

Begin Lesson #32. st. bk. pg.46. (Music concepts learned throughout the school year. )

 
Thursday

10:30 A.M. Kind.

Singing day. Children will have the opportunity to pick their favorites from their music books, to sing.

11:00 - 3rd. gr.

Review The Old Hammer in parts, pg. 31. Begin Lesson #21, st. bk. pg.32. (Key signatures tell what notes in a song will be "sharped" or "flatted."

11:30  - 2nd gr.

Finish Lesson #30 if not done. Begin Lesson #31. st. bk. pg.43. (All songs learned from lessons 19 through 30 and selected concepts demonstrated in those songs, and will choose their favorites.)
