Luke 2 Baby Jesus is born
Read bible story from toddler bible and sing "Away in a Manger". Teacher will ask children what did God send to us? Where was baby Jesus born? Remind children that God sent his son Jesus to be born as a baby.

Introduce children to the letter "G". Introduce children to the truck puppet, Mack. Tell the children that Mack is a truck and that he has many types of jobs. Show the children different sized toy trucks. Explain that there are many sized trucks on the road. Encourage the children to tell about trucks they have seen. Sing "Beep Beep" song and show trucks conversation card.

Green "G" Children will be given green paint, brushes and sponges. They will be encouraged to paint their "G". Teacher will tell children other things that begin with the letter "G" such as: grapes, grass, and goats. Teacher will ask which of those three things are green.

. TD: Teacher will be available on the carpet area with boxes. She will ask the children open-ended questions such as: What do boxes help us do? Where do we get boxes?
SD: Trucks and blocks will be out in the carpet area for the children to play with. |

Luke 2 Baby Jesus is born Read bible story from toddler rhyme bible. Ask children why couldn't Mary and Joseph stay at the inn? What was the stable used for? Remind children that we are celebrating the birth of God's son. Sing "Go Tell it on the Mountain". |
Introduce number "7". The arrival of daily mail is a familiar event in most households. Children may be curious about mail and where it comes from. Invite the children to talk about how their families receive mail and packages. Show a picture of a mail truck and talk about the mailman. |
My Mail Children will be given letter stamps, stamp pads, and envelopes. Children will be encouraged to place the stamps in the stamp pads and then stamp it on the envelope. Teacher will talk to children about each letter the are using and how each letter is important in mail. |
TD: Teacher will be at a table with car and truck puzzles. She will assist the children if necessary. SD: Home center will be open with letter carrier bags and mail for children to distribute. |

Luke 2 Baby Jesus is Born Read bible story from the beginner's bible. Sing song "Silent Night". Teacher will ask what happened that night. Who sent baby Jesus? Remind the children to thank God for baby Jesus everyday. |
Introduce color "blue". The arrival of a delivery van with flowers or gifts is an exciting event. Show the children some artificial flowers and some real flowers. Explain that trucks often deliver flowers for special occasions. Ask the children who they would like to send flowers to. |
Cookie Cutter Art
Children will be given a cookie cutter in the shape of a flower, different colored paint and a white sheet of paper. Teacher will encourage the children to dip the cookie cutter in the paint and then onto their paper. She will encouraging words as the children continue to repeat the process.

Luke 2 Baby Jesus is Born Read bible story from curriculum. "I'm a Gift From God" project. Children will be given construction paper that reads 'I am God's Gift' and several small bows to place on their construction paper. |
Read shapes book and encourage children to point out shapes they know. Talk to the children about things that are big. Encourage the children to share their ideas about how large things get into our classroom. Show the moving van conversation card and invite the children to talk about the vehicle. |
Snow Flakes Teacher will talk to the children about the cold weather we've been having. She will tell the children about snow. Ask children if they have ever seen or visited the snow. Children will be given glue and glitter to decorate their snowflake. |
TD: Teacher will be in the carpet area with moving trucks and different types of blocks. She will encourage the children to stack the blocks in the trucks. SD: Book area will be open with books about trucks and stories about children who have moved. |

Review letter "G", number "7" and color "blue". Teacher will set out a collection of things that children use often, such as toys, play food, and books. Ask the children where these things come from. Encourage the children to name differebt things they enjoy. Include each suggestion in the "Truck's Haul" song. |
Seven Blue G's
Children will be given seven blue letter "G"s, glue, and a sheet of white paper. The children will be encouraged to glue all seven of their G's on their paper. Teacher will assist the children in counting the G's when they are finished.

TD: Teacher will be at a table with Play Doh, cookie cutters, and small rollers. She will encourage the children to roll the Play Doh flat using the rolling pins. SD: Trucks and blocks will be out in the carpet area.
